A product of the youth system at Nancy, Eric signed for Preston after inpressing in a trail at the club in October 2000. Originally on a contract until the end of the season, his performances earned him a two year deal at the end of the 2001-02 season. His Deepdale deal was extended up to June 2006 in July 2003.
