Imagine a centre half with the class of John Charles, a full back like Maldini, a midfielder with the defensive qualities of Keane, the shooting power of Gerrard and a striker like the young Shearer. This was Duncan Edwards, one of the greatest players ever to have graced a football pitch. A superb physique combined with a cool football brain and sumptuous technique, he feared no opponent and did not consider any cause to be lost. He won championship titles in 1956 and 1957. Regrettably lost at Munich, only 21, he will be remembered and revered forever.
