Out of favour at Peterborough United, Drewe spent time on loan at Dagenham & Redbridge and Stevenage Borough in the first half of 2000-01 before joining Third Division new boys Kidderminster Harriers, again on loan, at the turn of the year.
He scored on his debut at Mansfield Town and did well enough at Aggborough to earn a permanent transfer, going on to find the net regularly in the closing weeks of the campaign.
Drewe, who is a big and bustling target man with a good first touch, joined Southend United on a two-year contract in June 2003.
He joined Rushden & Diamonds in February 2005 with a contract to the end of the 2004-05 season that was extended to June 2006 in June 2005.
Drewe joined Chester City in July 2006 with a two-year contract.
He joined Milton Keynes Dons in July 2007 in a one-year deal.
Drewe joined Rotherham United in August 2008 on a monthly contract that was soon extended to June 2009 then to June 2010 in May 2009.
He joined Lincoln City in July 2010 with a one-year contract.
