Freedman began the 2000-01 campaign at Nottingham Forest where he featured in several of the early matches without making much of an impact and subsequently returned to one of his former clubs, Crystal Palace.

His goal-scoring touch seemed to come back at Selhurst Park as he netted four times in his first four games but he then spent some time on the subs' bench and the goal supply began to dry up.

He is an intelligent striker who can turn defenders and displays some neat touches.

He scored three goals in the final two games of the season including the vital winner in the final game of the season at Stockport County that saved Palace's Division One status for another year.

Freedman's contract at Crystal Palace was extended to June 2007 in July 2005.

He joined Southend United in September 2008 with a two-year contract.
