This promising youngster stepped up to make his senior debut for Walsall in the LDV Vans Trophy tie against Wigan and also featured in the next round against Stoke before making his bow in the Second Division when he came off the subs' bench in the last match of the season against Northampton. A confident and extremely mobile defender he is still remembered for an outstanding display for the Saddlers' youths against Spurs a couple of seasons previously.

Dion was released by Mansfield Town in January 2003 and joined Kidderminster Harriers on a non-contract basis.
