Nicknamed " Bullets" Dennis signed as a professional in June 1962 after progressing through the junior ranks. Possesing an accurate and powerful shot he could not displace Bobby Tambling or George Graham from the first team and left to join Swindon Town in November 1964. He went on to make over 400 apprearances for his various clubs.
