Although he featured several times early on for Huddersfield Town in 2000-01, Delroy failed to win a regular place in the line-up although he continued to impress in the reserves.

He received more opportunities when Lou Macari took over as manager although he was still often used from the subs' bench.

A quick strong forward, he had the McAlpine Stadium buzzing with his whole-hearted approach and netted ten goals to finish joint-top scorer with Kevin Gallen.

A tribunal decided the fee for his move to Bolton Wanderers to an initial £100,000, rising to £350,000 depending on appearances.

There was also a 15% sell-on clause.

Delroy joined West Bromwich Albion in January 2004 with a contract to the end of the 2003-04 season.

He then joined Hull City in July 2004 on a two-year contract.

Delroy joined Oldham Athletic in March 2005 with a contract to June 2006.

He then joined Tranmere Rovers in August 2005 with a deal to the end of the season.

Delroy joined Rotherham United in July 2006 with a two-year contract.

He was made available for transfer by Gillingham in June 2008 before his Gills contract was cancelled two months later.
