Dele Adebola

Adebola seemed to be set for a move to Las Palmas during the 2000 close season but the deal broke down and he remained at Birmingham City throughout the 2000-01 campaign.

He responded by working hard in training and won his place back in the squad, although he was often used as a substitute.

He was particularly effective in the Worthington Cup run, scoring five goals for Blues on the way to the final when he made the starting line-up against Liverpool.

His strong dribbling caused tremendous problems in the earlier rounds both for Tottenham Hotspur, against whom he scored twice in a 3-1 win at White Hart Lane, and Newcastle United.

However, he had the misfortune to suffer a bad knee injury when he collided with a post in the penultimate game of the regular season.

A powerful striker, he showed a good turn of pace when in full flow and also improved his heading.

Adebola joined Coventry City on a two-year contract in June 2003.

Having been made available for transfer in February 2004, Adebola's Sky Blues contract was extended to June 2007 in May 2005.

He joined Bristol City in January 2008 with a contract to June 2009.

Adebola joined Nottingham Forest in July 2009 with a two-year contract.

He joined Hull City in July 2011 with a one-year contract.

Adebola joined Rochdale in August 2012 with a one-year contract.
