Bennett featured regularly in the centre of the park for Football League newcomers Kidderminster Harriers.
He took time to settle in to the higher level required and was one of several players transfer listed in January 2001 but responded positively by raising his game.
A lively midfielder, his strength lies in his ability to pick up the ball from deep and run at opposition defenders.
Bennett joined Wrexham in July 2004 with a two-year contract.
He then joined Chester City in a two-year deal but was made available for transfer in December 2007.
Bennett has also played for Dundalk, Solihull Moors and Redditch United.
