Wright was once again a near ever-present in the Crewe Alexandra back line in 2000-01 when he was in excellent form.
Mostly featuring at right back, he was very solid in defence and also enjoyed pushing forward to help out with the attack.
He is yet another fine prospect to develop through the very productive Gresty Road youth scheme.
Wright was made available for transfer in May 2004 and joined Wigan Athletic in a three-year deal.
He joined Ipswich Town in January 2007 with a contract to June 2010.
Wright joined Crystal Palace in July 2010 with a two-year contract that was extended to June 2013 in November 2011.
His contract at Colchester United was extended to June 2015 in July 2014 before he announced his retirement in November 2014.
