With Everton, FA Cup winner 1995
David came through a dip in form at Everton in the early part of the 2000-01 season to re-establish himself as one of the most popular players at the club.
Having shown strength of character and resolve to come through the period, he ended the season with a flourish, scoring four goals in a decisive six-match spell.
His usual dead-eye accuracy from the penalty spot was marred by a last day miss against Sunderland, but typically he refused to let that affect his concentration and picked up a 'Man of the Match' award at the end of the game.
Happiest on the left of a three-man defensive formation, he was largely employed at left wing back throughout the season where he acquitted himself diligently and enthusiastically.
David joined Sheffield United in August 2005 with a three-year contract but was made available for transfer by the Blades in December 2006.
He joined Burnley in August 2007 with a one-year contract.
