Romo joined Swansea last September following a successful trial period and although he took time to settle into his new surroundings he went on to become a regular in the first-team squad. A talented midfield player who is a specialist with dead-ball kicks one of the high points of his campaign was his performance in the 6-0 thrashing of Brentford when he set up four of the Swans' goals with his corners. Romo was placed on Swansea's transfer list in September 2001.
