Miskelly was again understudy to first-choice 'keeper Gary Kelly for Oldham Athletic in the 2000-01 campaign.
He produced some encouraging displays for the reserves but his senior appearances were limited to just two, one as a half-time replacement for the injured Kelly, during a mauling at Reading and the other a start against Swansea City in April.
Despite this, he continued to feature regularly in the Northern Ireland Under-21 squad and added a further three caps during the season.
Miskelly went on the Boundary Park transfer list in October 2001 before being released in May 2003.
