Having been released by French club Valence at the end of the 1999-2000 season, David joined Plymouth Argyle on non-contract forms in November 2000.
He became an instant hero with the Pilgrims' fans after producing a fine performance on his debut in the 2-0 success at arch-rivals Exeter City.
A gifted midfielder who is very comfortable on the ball, he added a touch of class to the Plymouth side.
He also showed that he has a good eye for goal netting five times during the campaign.
He subsequently signed a two-year contract with the club, a deal that was extended for a further two years in April 2003.
David joined Nottingham Forest in February 2005 with a contract to June 2007 that was cancelled in August 2006.
