Despite over 350 appearances for West Bromwich Albion since signing with them from trainee, Daryl was rarely used by West Bromwich Albion boss Gary Megson in 2000-01 and apart from a handful of senior outings he played most of his football in the reserves.
An experienced defender whose versatility makes him a useful squad member, he received a testimonial match against Newcastle United in May 2001 but soon afterwards he was released by the Baggies.
Daryl joined Rochdale in July 2003 in a two-year deal.
