Darryl Flahavan signed for Southend United from Conference club Woking in October 2000 and took over between the posts when Andy Woodman's loan spell came to an end the following month.
He proved to be a goalkeeper of exceptional talent, and immediately won over the Blues' fans with his performances, remaining first choice for the remainder of the season.
He is very agile, shows good command of his area and has a powerful kick.
Darryl is the younger brother of the late former Portsmouth 'keeper, Aaron Flahavan.
After being released by Southend United at the end of the 2002-03 season, Darryl returned to Roots Hall in September 2003 on a non-contract basis before agreeing a deal for the rest of the season a month later.
Darryl's contract at Southend United was extended to June 2007 in June 2005.
He joined Crystal Palace in July 2008 with a two-year contract.
Flahavan joined Portsmouth in August 2010 on a monthly contract.
He joined AFC Bournemouth in July 2011 with a one-year contract that was extended to June 2013 in January 2012, to June 2014 in May 2013 and to June 2015 in June 2014.
Darryl joined Crawley Town in October 2015 with a contract to January 2016.
