Sheridan began the 2000-01 campaign in the Wigan Athletic first-team line-up but suffered an injury early on that kept him out for several weeks.
He came back into the team in November and featured regularly for the remainder of the season either in midfield or at full back.
Sheridan is a hard working left-footed player who tackles enthusiastically and distributes the ball with care.
Out of contract in the summer of 2001, he was surprisingly released by the Latics and joined his older brother John at Oldham Athletic.
