Bullock started the 2000-01 season in scintillating form as the Shakers spent the opening two months riding high near the top of the Second Division table. That success was due in no small way to his own contribution as he hit top form, scoring four goals in the opening seven games. He then suffered a thigh injury at the end of September that kept him sidelined for two months and shortly after returning he fell foul of disciplinary problems. Never able to win his place back, he moved on loan to Sheffield United on the transfer deadline day, linking up once again with his old boss Neil Warnock. He went on to make his debut in the Sheffield 'derby' at Hillsborough but after some promising displays a hernia injury ended his hopes of a permanent deal. He is a combative midfield player with excellent ball-winning skills.
