Having beaten such as Andy Cole and Kevin Phillips in the competition for 2002 World Cup places, Darius had a truly dream start to his international career when he scored on his debut with a spectacular acrobatic volley in Holland in February 2002.
He performed impressively against Italy to unsettle one of the best defensive units then scored against Paraguay.
A powerful striker with exceptional control and electric pace, he signed professional forms at Aston Villa in 1998.
Darius joined Manchester City in July 2005 with a four-year contract.
He joined Ankaragucu in July 2009 with a two-year contract that was cancelled at the end of the first season.
Darius joined Leicester City in October 2010 with a contract to June 2012.
