A product of the youth academy at Rotherham United, Danny signed as a professional in July 1997.
He made his debut as a sub in an FA Cup tie against Bunley and his league debut as a sub against Scunthorpe United in November 1997.
His first full appearance came against Scarborough a week later and it looked as if a long and promising career would follow.
