Danny Coyne was in great form in goal for First Division Grimsby Town throughout the 2000-01 campaign, earning the Mariners points on many occasions with some stunning saves.
He gave an exceptional performance in the relegation battle at Queens Park Rangers when he defied the home strikers almost single-handedly to ensure a vital 1-0 victory.
A fine shot stopper with excellent positioning and lightning reactions, he was deservedly voted as the supporters' 'Player of the Year'.
Danny joined Leicester City in July 2003 in a two-year deal but moved on to Burnley in July 2004 with a three-year contract.
He joined Tranmere Rovers in July 2007 with a two-year contract.
Danny joined Middlesbrough in July 2009 with a two-year contract.
He joined Sheffield United in November 2012 with a monthly contract.
