The 2000-01 campaign was only Danny's second as a professional but, after making a promising impact, he rather disappointingly spent much of the season on the subs' bench.
He was often the unfortunate player to depart from midfield when Oldham Athletic switched to playing five at the back or needed to introduce pace and goals into the game.
A promising young midfield play maker, he went on the Boundary Park transfer list in October 2001.
Danny signed a new one-year contract at Oldham Athletic in May 2004.
He joined Stockport County in July 2005 in a one-year deal.
His contract at Grimsby Town was extended to June 2009 in April 2007.
Danny was made available for transfer by the Mariners in January 2010 before his contract was cancelled shortly afterwards.
He immediately joined Chesterfield with a contract to the end of the season.
