This former Bury trainee joined Macclesfield Town on a two-year contract in August 2000, making his debut from the subs' bench in the Worthington Cup home tie against Bolton Wanderers and proceeding to make the left-back position his own.
A gritty and determined player, Danny feeds the ball well to the midfield and enjoys pushing forward on the overlap.
Danny was made available for transfer by Macclesfield Town in February 2004 and joined Huddersfield Town the following month with a contract to the end of the season. This was extended to June 2006 in May 2005.
His contract at Morecambe was extended to June 2010 in February 2009 before it was cancelled in March 2010.
