This whole-hearted left back was an ever-present for Southend United in 2000-01, filling the gap left by departing 'Player of the Year' Nathan Jones more than adequately. Equally strong with both feet and possessing great stamina, Damon provided a string of decent crosses to set up chances for his colleagues throughout the season. He scored just one goal for the Blues - netting with a memorable 30-yard free kick in injury time of the final game of the season against Mansfield Town.
