Welsh international Cyril Sidlow was one of the pioneers of throwing the ball rather than kicking it out. With Liverpool he was a 1st Division Championship winner in 1947 and FA Cup runner-up in 1950.
He also appeared for many clubs as a war guest in the WWII war time games.
