Having been released by Sheffield United at the end of the 1999-2000 campaign Craig joined Third Division Carlisle, but struggled to win a regular place in the squad and was restricted to a handful of outings from the subs' bench and a single appearance in the starting line-up in the LDV Vans Trophy tie at Kidderminster. Craig is a promising central defender with undoubted potential.
