Hinton is the nephew of former England international, Alan Hinton.
This solid and reliable central defender was the only player to be ever-present for Kidderminster Harriers in their inaugural season in the Football League.
He also proved useful when moving up to assist the attack at set pieces and he contributed goals against Leyton Orient and Shrewsbury Town.
Hinton was rewarded for some fine displays when he took over as captain in the closing matches and was deservedly voted 'Player of the Year' by the Harriers' supporters.
Hinton joined Bristol Rovers in July 2004 on a two-year contract.
His Rovers contract was extended to June 2009 in March 2008.
He joined Northampton Town in July 2009 and was made available for transfer in May 2010 before his contract was cancelled in March 2011.
