Up amongst the greatest-ever players to grace the famous black and whites stripes, Colin spent 16 seasons at Gallowgate and excelled in almost every outfield position. After the triple Championship successes in the first decade of the 20th century, he was the first Newcastle captain to lift the FA Cup. The Daily Mirror report on the 1910 replayed Final read: “Veitch was the star artist and his play was simply delightful. He kept feeding both wings splendidly and then cleared after it looked certain that Barnsley would score.” He was the PFA chairman from 1911 to 1918.
