A professional with the highest standards, able to combine football skills with great determination, Colin possessed the ideal qualities to help in Middlesbrough's ultimately successful struggle against relegation in 2000-01.
A versatile defender with immaculate ball distribution, his tackling is solidly reliable and he added to his many 'Man of the Match' awards winning much acclaim from the Boro' supporters. He also showed again that he is still able to tuck away a couple of goals each season in spite of a certain reluctance to go forward too often.
Colin's contract at Middlesbrough was extended to June 2006 in May 2005.
