The powerfully built player had a mixed time for York City in 2000-01. Although not a regular in the line-up in the first half of the campaign he came off the subs' bench to score an important goal in the Minstermen's 3-1 FA Cup win at Reading. He then had a successful spell mid-term in the centre of defence where he impressed with his composure, before returning to his more familiar position as a striker. He was particularly effective in the win at Mansfield last March, and struck up a useful partnership with Lee Nogan up front in the closing weeks of the season. Colin has a good touch on the ball and is very effective in the air whether playing in defence or attack.

Colin's contract at Cambridge United was cancelled by mutual consent in October 2002. He joined Exeter City the following month on non-contract terms.
