Wijnhard played for Ajax, Groningen and RKC Waelwijk before joining Willem II.
He joined Oldham Athletic in August 2002 on a one-year contract and briefly re-joined the Latics in August 2004 on non-contract terms.
Wijnhard signed a contract with Darlington in November 2004 up to June 2006 but it was cancelled in October 2005 although his registration was retained to the end of the year.
Wijnhard joined Brentford in September 2006 with a three-month contract.
