A rising star of Irish football, the lively Londoner qualifies for the Republic as his grandmother hails from Garristown, County Dublin.

Clinton Morrison captured the headlines in early 2001 with goals for Crystal Palace in their run to the Worthington Cup semi-finals.

Never lacking in self-confidence, also eligible for England and Jamaica, he finally declared for his allegiance to the Republic in May 2001 and won two Under-21 caps against Portugal and Estonia before scoring on his senior debut against Croatia three months later.

Having signed professional forms at Crystal Palace in 1997, after 72 goals in 180 appearances, the chances of a big-money move to the Premiership for the talented striker looked on the cards.

After a protracted transfer saga he signed for Birmingham City in the summer of 2002.

Clinton re-joined Crystal Palace in August 2005 with a three-year contract.

He joined Coventry City in August 2008 with a two-year contract.

Clinton joined Sheffield Wednesday in July 2010 with a two-year contract.

He joined Colchester United in July 2012 with a two-year contract.

Clinton joined Exeter City in November 2014 on a non-contract basis before agreeing a deal in Jaunary 2015 until June 2015 which was extended to January 2016 in August 2015.
