Willmott enjoyed a short run in the Wimbledon line-up at the start of the 2000-01 season as cover for injuries before dropping back to the reserves where he continued to produce some fine performances.
He made the odd first-team appearance after this and netted his first goal in senior football with a powerful header in the 3-3 draw against Crewe Alexandra in April.
A dependable central defender who continues to learn his trade, he is strong in the tackle and always tries to use the ball constructively.
Willmott joined Oxford United in July 2005 with a contract to June 2007.
