Keeble had a frustrating time for Colchester United in 2000-01, spending much of the campaign in the reserves. He made the starting line-up on a handful of occasions but had the misfortune to rupture an achilles tendon in the final match against Wycombe and the injury is expected to keep him out of action until the end of the year. A promising central midfield player he is the son of Vic Keeble who played for Colchester, Newcastle and West Ham in the 1950s.
Keeble was released by Colchester United in April 2003.
