Iwelumo made a handful of early season appearances for Stoke City in 2000-01, scoring within two minutes of coming off the subs bench in the 5-1 Worthington Cup win at York City and heading an excellent winner in the home game with Millwall.

He then went on loan to Third Division York, where he scored three goals including one in the 3-1 FA Cup Second Round replay victory over Reading.

He returned to the Britannia Stadium in February and soon afterwards moved out on loan again this time to Cheltenham Town where he scored a well-taken goal on his debut against Mansfield Town.

However, he subsequently suffered a groin injury and failed to recapture the form of his early games.

He is a tall, powerfully built targetman with a good touch for such a big man.

Iwelumo had his transfer request accepted by Stoke City in December 2003 before joining Brighton & Hove Albion in March 2004 with a contract to the end of the season.

Iwelumo joined Wolverhampton Wanderers in July 2008 with a two-year contract.

He joined Burnley in July 2010 with a two-year contract.

Iwelumo joined Watford in July 2011 with a two-year contract.

He joined Scunthorpe United in July 2013 with a one-year contract that was cancelled in January 2014.
