Signed from Preston North End for £100,000 as a youngster, Chris progressed to become an England Under-21 international but was burdened by being tagged the second Gazza.
Chris was sidelined by a knee injury and then achilles trouble during the early part of 2000-01 before returning to the Huddersfield Town squad in November.
However, he continued to be plagued by injury problems, later suffering a broken toe and these prevented him having a decent run in the team.
An energetic midfield player who sometimes seems to cover every blade of grass, he is strong in the tackle and has a good partnership with Craig Armstrong in the centre of the park.
Chris joined Boston United in March 2004 with a contract to June 2006.
He was made available for transfer in November 2004.
