A local youngster, Chris made his debut for Northampton Town shortly before the end of the 2000-01 season against Port Vale.
A promising central defender or midfielder, he created an immediate impression by 'nutmegging' a Vale player with almost his first touch of the ball.
He went on to feature twice more for the Cobblers.
Chris' contract at Northampton Town was extended to June 2006 in February 2004 before joining Bristol Rovers in July 2005 with a two-year contract that was extended to June 2008 in July 2007.
