After leaving Crewe he played in non-League football but has made over 60 first team club appearances since his return. Chris spent much of the 2000-01 campaign recovering from a serious knee injury, eventually returning to the Stockport County first-team as a late substitute in the game at Nottingham Forest in April to be greeted by a huge cheer from the travelling fans. Unfortunately that was to be his only senior game for the Hatters and he was given a free transfer by boss Andy Kilner in the summer.
A pacy skilful midfield player, Chris subsequently joined Macclesfield Town up to his Silkmen contract being terminated in March 2003.
