Having coming up through the ranks at Middlesbrough this aspiring young 'keeper was loaned out to Shelbourne at the beginning of the 2000-01 campaign before being recalled to the Riverside to receive his first taste of senior action in a Worthington Cup tie against Macclesfield Town. He had Mark Schwarzer, Mark Crossley and Marlon Beresford ahead of him in the pecking order at the Riverside.
