Chris Beech

Beech was a product of the Manchester City youth system spending two years at Lilleshall, playing for the England Youth side, and he signed as a professional in November 1992.

He never appeared for City and was picked up by Cardiff City on a free transfer in August 1997. He was an ever present in their Third Division campaign in 1997-98 but was released with eleven others in the summer of 1998.

Rotherham United snapped him up but after a good start to 1998-99 before a knee injury kept him out of the side.

After playing the starting matches in 1999-2000, he was ruled out of most of the campaign.

Beech once again had to be content with a bit part at Rotherham in 2000-01 although he can consider himself rather unlucky not to have played more often.

He started the season in the team before picking up an injury and he was unable to command a regular spot thereafter.

A dogged left-sided defender, distribution is one of his strong points as he rarely wastes the ball. He never let the side down whenever called upon.

Beech was made available for transfer by Doncaster Rovers in May 2004.
