Chris Beaumont

Beaumont spent most of last season on the subs bench for Chesterfield and only made the starting line-up on four occasions. He usually came on if an experienced hand was needed to cover for the withdrawal of a defender or midfielder and although no player can be happy being a permanent substitute, he put the team before himself and proved to be a valued squad member. For a player who arrived at Saltergate as a right winger, Beaumont performed as a stand-in centre-half with great aplomb.
