Zimbabwean international Bruce Grobbelaar enjoyed many successes with Liverpool including winning the 1st Division Championship in 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1988 and 1990, the FA Cup in 1986, 1989, 1992 and runner-up in 1988, League Cup runner-up in 1987, European Cup winner in 1984 and runner-up in 1985 and League Cup winner in 1982, 1983 and 1984. A great showman and effective keeper, he joined Southampton in 1994, later playing for Plymouth, Bury, Lincoln, Motherwell, Chesham United and Northwich Victoria, before coaching Zimbabwe and managing in South Africa. His reputation has suffered due to allegations of receiving corrupt payments which were described by a libel judge as proved true at least up to the standard of balance of probabilities.
