This experienced left-sided central defender began last season in the Scottish Premier League with Dunfermline. Brian featured twice for the Pars in early season fixtures before moving south to join Blackpool, initially for a three-month loan period. He produced some outstanding performances for the Tangerines, his strength in the air proving a real asset. Rarely absent apart from the occasional injury and suspension, he deputised as club captain when Ian Hughes was absent.
Brian was released by Blackpool in December 2002.
