With Newcastle United, FA Cup runner-up 1974, Fairs Cup winner 1969. A hero of the 1969 Fairs Cup Final victory - but for the most unlikely reason. Bobby scored three goals in the two-legged final against Ujpest Dosza, which was remarkable as he netted only seven goals in his other 359 appearances for Newcastle. In his 14 years at Gallowgate, he was much better known as an inspirational captain and fiercely competitive centre-back.
