Bjorn Otto Bragstad

This Norwegian international centre back arrived at Derby County in the summer of 2000 with an outstanding reputation however he found it difficult to settle at first which didn't help his introduction into a less than steady defence. Originally part of a back four, he struggled once Jim Smith moved to playing three centre backs and with the team hovering near the foot of the table he lost his place. The introduction of Chris Riggott and the signing of Taribo West meant an extended spell in the reserves, however he assisted the second string to a successful defence of their title, captaining the team on occasions.
