'Billy', whose actual christian name is Matthew, started the 2000-01 season on the treatment table but was soon back in action for Leyton Orient and featured in a handful of games in the first half of the campaign. He subsequently joined Conference outfit Dover on loan in February before returning to play his part in midfield and help the team to the play-off final. An excellent tackler who uses the ball well, he signed a new 12-month contract for the O's at the end of the 2000-01 season.
