Foulkes was one of United's most faithful servants, an automatic choice for almost 20 years, first as a full back, later as centre half.
A Munich survivor he won four league titles (1956, 1957, 1965, 1967), FA Cup (1963), FA Cup Finalist (1957, 1958), European Cup (1968), his amazing goal at the Bernebeu sending United through to the Final.
Immensely strong, Foulkes was utterly reliable in defence, rarely missing a match, appearing in all 61 FA Cup ties (1954-67) and all of United's first 45 games in Europe (1955-68).
