An outstanding performer in the domestic league with the Mamelodi Sundowns where he has spent most of his career, Bennett Mnguni won Championships in 1998-1999 and 1999-2000 and a Rothmans Cup in 1999-2000 before making his international debut in June 2001 against Liberia. He is a hardworking midfielder effective at winning the ball and good at distributing it when he plays just behind the front two. He made the African Nations' Cup Finals squad but did not take part and moved to Lokomotiv Moscow straight after.
