Walshe was yet another of the very promising youngsters at Queens Park Rangers who was blooded in the senior team in the closing weeks of the 2000-01 campaign.

He made his Football League debut when he came off the subs' bench in the final home game of the season against Stockport County.

A fast and direct winger, he was a member of the Under-19s team that reached the FA Premier Academy Final only to lose to Nottingham Forest in extra time.

Walshe was made available for transfer by QPR shortly before the start of the 2002-03 season.
