Ben Futcher

Date of birth20 February 1981
Place of birthManchester
NationalityEnglish
Weight78 kg
Height1.93 m
PositionDefender/Centre back

Oldham Athletic's abundance of central defenders restricted opportunities for Ben in 2000-01 and he was almost exclusively limited to reserve-team action.

However, he remained a promising youngster who uses his height to good effect.

Ben is the son of the former Oldham and Barnsley defender Paul Futcher - who also became his manager when he moved to Stalybridge Celtic.

Ben returned to League football with Lincoln City, and proved to be such a success at Sincil Bank that his contract was extended until June 2005 in January 2003.

Ben's transfer request was granted by Lincoln in May 2004. He joined Boston United in July 2005 with a two-year contract.

Ben joined Peterborough United in August 2006 with a three-year contract but was made available for transfer in May 2007.

His contract at Bury was extended to June 2011 in June 2009.
